Anybody nervous?

Is anybody else feeling nervous about tomorrow's game? As it draws closer I keep getting increasingly anxious about it. I went to get my ticket for the beam back yesterday, I thought £12 was a bit pricey but can't complain really, it's a huge game and with tickets sold out at Layer Road the Brit is the only place to watch it!

Do you think we can actually do it tomorrow? I really don't know. Im almost too nervous to even get my hopes up! I think it will be a high scoring game and I do think that the team will give it their all and do us proud no matter what!

Well, there are a couple of possibilities for us to get promoted:
Stoke win and Hull lose = PROMOTION!
Stoke draw, Hull lose and Bristol City lose = PROMOTION!
Anything else and it's down to the last game of the season

It was around this time last year when we were in line for the play-offs, and who did we beat to give us that extra bit of hope.... Colchester United!
Where you there?

The game against Colchester, who are already relegated, seems like an easy one to win. And even better for us Hull are playing Crystal Palace who will be very keen to get a secure place in the Play-off's and after losing last week to ten men Hull's confidence, which a team like that need more than anything will be lacking somewhat! Bristol City haven't got the easiest of games either they are playing Sheffield United away.

No matter what happens tomorrow the Brit is going to be fully packed for the first time in a while at the Leicester City game! I'll be there, you'll be there and even those pre-season non-believers will be there too!

My heart says: 3-2 Stoke win, but my head says 1-1 draw. What do you think?

I think this weekends game at Colchester will be a difficult one. Its their last game at Layer Road so they will want to leave with a win. Also their boss Geraint Williams has come down hard on the team after losing 5-1 to Coventry last weekend. They are planning to train hard this week and give us a tough game to disrupt our road to the Premiership.

But when it comes to pressure and effort nobody
knows it like Stoke. Last weekend proved it,
and hopefully this will give us the confidence we
need to get another win. Pulis admitted to Stoke City World that the fight isn't over yet;
"Colchester will be a difficult game. I know
Geraint Williams and he'll really get them fired up. Winning these next two games is the most
important thing for us" State the obvious Pulis, we must win both games and not let nerves get in the way!

I believe that we can do it this week. We shouldn't rely on Hull to lose we should just
concentrate on our game and focus on that much needed win. Hopefully the team will know
they have fans with them and back at the Brit supporting them each minute so lets go out there
this weekend and prove our right to get to the Premiership!

I predict 3-2 Stoke! What do you think?

Best player this season?

Potters mash ran a poll last month to see who you thought was the best player for Stoke this season and you probably guessed it Liam Lawrence won with 79% of your votes! I completely agree with you on this one he is a fighter and always puts 100% effort into each game.  There are some videos below showing two of his many goals this season:

And another:

My favourite goal was at the Ipswich game which meant that we stayed in first place. What has been your favourite goal this season? Apart from the obvious Sidibe on Saturday I don't think anybody was expecting that

Big screen at Brit for Colchester game!

The Brit will be beaming back the Colchester game on the big screen for everyone who can't get to Layer Road on Saturday! Colchester have only got a small away end so tickets are limited.

If we win this game and Hull lose to Palace then we're officially promoted! The East Stand will be open for the match with the usual matchday facilities available, and full match commentary.

For those travelling to the game tickets are only on a loyalty basis. Tickets have been available to season ticket holders who have attended ten or more away fixtures. No guest list is in operation for this game.

I will be at the Brit watching the big screen, and I can't wait! I still have a good feeling, and I'm confident that we can easily beat Colchester away who have already been relegated to League 1.

Also if you haven't already got your tickets for the Leicester game ( 4th May 2pm Kick-Off) then I would hurry up and buy them as they are selling out fast!

Do you think we will get promoted this Saturday or do you think it will be a last minute decider?? I hope it happens Saturday and then we can go into the Leicester game relaxed and proud!

We did it!

My nerves need a good rest now after yesterday's amazing results! Firstly the fans head off to the pubs to get the action from our competitors, Hull and West Brom. I was pretty certain West Brom would win but there was plenty of chance for Hull to lose..... and they did!!

The pubs were silenced however when news came that Sheffield United were down to ten men at 0-0! But soon enough United scored and the atmosphere around the bars erupted and that wasn't it! When another goal was scored against Hull the Potters fans were more motivated than ever!

And now the team had to take this chance to do eeet as
potter mouth would say!

Onto the Brit and an amazing atmosphere from the first whistle (of many!) right through to the end. Stoke were by far the better side in the first half getting on top of every opportunity and it paid off when after just fifteen minutes Big Mama headed home Lawrences's perfect free kick! The place went crazy! As Bristol were almost frozen with shock Sidibe ran on to a through ball by Fuller and then neatly slotted it past Bristol's keeper to give the
Potters a 2-0 lead in the first half!

Second half I think nerves kicked in as the tempo dropped slightly and then came
Dele Adebola for Bristol City bringing them back into the game. Supportes became increasingly anxious when looking at the clock and seeing their was plenty of time left! But Stoke battled on and ended the game as hero's!

Fantastic game, Fantastic fans and a Fantastic chance of getting into the Premiership! Come on City we can do it!!!!

Oh no! We got Riley!!!

Oh dear! We have got Mike Riley as ref AND we are on TV!! This doesn't do much for my optimistic view on the game!!

The last time he was the ref of a championship game he sent of four players!!

But I am determined to stay confident and make sure that the Potters remain the center of attention and not the ref!

Come on Stoke!!

Big big game!

The day has finally arrived, we take on Bristol City in one of the most vital games of the season.  I have got a good feeling today and I think we are due a big win! It is a last minute decider whether Lawrence can play due to a groin injury but Im still hopeful!

Ameobi is fit but I think he will start on the bench, Griffin is injured, which in my opinion is not anything to worry about! How we gonna do guys?  Do you share my optimism that today is our day?

For inspiration check out Potter mouth battle cry on You Tube you may have heard him before BBC Radio Stoke's Praise and Grumble

If this doesn't give you the motivation I can't think of anything that will! Doo eeet you Potters!!
